Jan Jorgenson | Limited Edition Print

Jan is a Brisbane-born artist.

She studied at the College of Art in Brisbane and has worked as a professional commercial artist.

Jan was tutored by Archibald prize winner William Robinson.

She has exhibited her works for many years and won a number of awards.

(Limited Edition): Where a print is a "limited" edition, this means only a fixed number of prints or impressions are produced, usually numbered consecutively, eg. 1/100, 2/100, 3/100 and so on.

This makes the print more scarce and valuable given that no more copies can be created after the final numbered edition is sold, eg. 100/100.

Often the artist will personally sign each edition, adding authenticity to the artwork and further increasing its value.

Of course existing editions, eg. 5/100 can be re-sold on the open market. 

Giclée (jee-clay) is an advanced printmaking process for creating high quality fine art reproductions.

"Giclée" is a French term meaning “to spray” or "spurt", referring to how an inkjet printer uses a jet or nozzle to apply ink precisely, enabling artists to acheive a high-quality print of their original art work.

High quality Giclées, especially if they are in a limited edition are sought after by collectors.
