Charles Raymond Blackman (12 August 1928 – 20 August 2018) was a celebrated Australian painter.

He was a member of the Antipodeans, a group of Melbourne painters that also included Arthur Boyd, David Boyd, John Brack, Robert Dickerson, John Perceval, and Clifton Pugh.

Blackman created the Schoolgirl and Alice series in the 1950s, which received critical acclaim.

His artworks have elements of mystery and foreboding.

Blackman suffered alcoholism for a large part of his artistic career.

Blackman was the subject of a painting by Jon Molvig, which won the Archibald Prize in 1966.

In 1977, Blackman was awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to Australian art.

Blackman’s artworks are hung in numerous galleries around the world.

To date, the highest price paid for a Charles Blackman artwork was in 2017 for the Mad Hatter's Tea Party,  selling for $1,891,000.
