The "Champions Tour" played in Sydney in 1997 was a joint venture promotion between JFB Sports and Dainty Entertainment, supported by the NSW Government. It was branded as the "Testra Smart Champions" tour event.
But the "Champions Tour" originated with Jimmy Connors and Ray Benton in 1993. By 1997 the tour had grown to about 22 tournaments worldwide. The ATP later took over the concept promoting seniors and legends tennis.
The "Champions Tour" booklet details the tournament in Sydney in 1997, which included:- Jimmy Connors, John McEnroe, Bjorn Borg, and other players.
The booklet incorporates a summary of the players, such as, their rankings, grand slam performance, etc
Many photos throughout and facsimile signatures of the players.
A rare piece of tennis memorabilia given the Champions Tour as started by Jimmy Connors no longer exists. A great addition to any tennis collection or tennis history buff.
