Brian Seidel

Brian Seidel (30 August 1928 – 17 April 2019) was born in Adelaide, Australia.

 

He is highly accomplished artist in portraits and landscapes. His education included at the Slade School, London.

 

Brian studied under the world-renowned artist, Jeffrey Smart. 

 

Seidel is considered a significant Australian artist. 

 

His work is represented across Australian collections, most notably at the Art Gallery of South Australia, Art Gallery of New South Wales, Queensland Art Gallery and the National Gallery of Australia. He has also featured internationally at the Harold E. Mertz Collection of Australian Art, University of Texas, USA. 

 

The highest highest price recorded for the artist is $21,150 for “Clifton Hill Morning”, Elizabeth 1975-77 sold by Deutscher-Menzies in August 2000.
